1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. When you use Quill, we store your campaign data (scenes, events, NPCs, characters, audio preferences, and session notes) in our database. If you subscribe to a paid tier, your payment is handled by a third-party payment processor — we never store credit card numbers directly.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your campaign data is used solely to provide the Quill service to you. AI features (companion chat, NPC dialogue, session recaps) send relevant campaign context to our AI provider for processing — our AI provider does not retain this data. We use your email to send account-related communications and optional notifications you can control in settings.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored with row-level security — only you can access your campaign data. Images are stored with per-user isolation. All connections use TLS encryption. We do not sell, share, or provide your data to third parties except as necessary to operate the service (database hosting, payment processing, AI processing, and web hosting).
4. AI Data Handling
When you use AI features, relevant campaign context (active scene, events, NPCs, campaign tone) is sent to our AI provider for processing. Our AI provider does not use this data for training and does not retain it beyond the request. AI-generated images are stored securely and are only accessible to you.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
6. Your Rights
You can export or delete your campaign data at any time. Account deletion permanently removes all your data from our systems. You can manage email notification preferences in your account settings. To exercise any data rights, contact us.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Quill after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
