You've built a world worth living in and handed the players the keys. Your prep isn't plot. It's setting. Faction relationships, regional economics, NPC motivations that exist independent of what the players are doing. You don't drive the story. You maintain the world and watch what they do with it.

Your prep folder has entries for people the players haven't met yet.

Warden

You've built a world that challenges players through living pressure, not ledger accuracy (that's the Chronicler), not encounter design. Your sandbox has atmosphere, history, and weight. The world has moods. Factions have grudges that predate the players' arrival. Places feel haunted by their histories. You maintain the world neutrally, and the world doesn't soften itself for anyone.

The challenge is immersive: it comes from being inside something real. The world isn't designed to hurt the players. It just keeps being what it is, and what it is demands things of them.

Strengths

• +The sandbox feels genuinely alive: history has weight, places have character, consequences accrue naturally.
• +Player victories carry meaning because the world's indifference made them earn every one
• +Long-term consequence feels organic rather than authored; the world remembers without being dramatic about it

Blind Spots

• -Immersive pressure without transparent world-rules can feel like ambient hostility to players who don't understand why things keep going wrong
• -New or disorganized groups may misread the world's neutrality as active antagonism, which sours the table before it can breathe

The Tension

Requires self-directed players. Groups looking for forward momentum may feel adrift in the open world.
